Why Source Cable Glands from Difvan?

There is no shortage of cable gland suppliers in the market. What matters to a serious distributor or OEM buyer is a manufacturer who can deliver consistent quality, the right documentation, and a reliable supply chain — not just a competitive price. Here is what Difvan brings to every order.

We Are the Manufacturer — Not a Trading Company
Difvan operates its own production facility in Yueqing, Zhejiang — one of China’s largest electrical component manufacturing hubs. Every cable gland is produced in-house, from raw material to finished product. There are no middlemen, no third-party sourcing, and no quality gaps between what is quoted and what is shipped. Factory-direct pricing means you get the manufacturer’s cost — not a trader’s margin on top of it.

25+ Years of Cable Gland Manufacturing Experience
We have been manufacturing cable glands for over 25 years. That means proven tooling, refined production processes, and an engineering team that understands the product deeply — not just how to make it, but how it performs in the field. When a bulk buyer places a repeat order six months later, the product is dimensionally identical to the first shipment. Consistency at scale is the result of experience, not luck.

OEM & Custom Manufacturing for Qualified Buyers
Difvan supports full OEM and private label production for distributors and system integrators who require branded products. Custom specifications include thread type and pitch, cable entry range, body material, sealing compound, surface finish, colour, and packaging. Send us your requirement — we quote within 24 hours and can produce samples within 7–10 days. Non-standard sizes and modified designs are handled by our in-house engineering team without outsourcing.

Reliable Global Export to 50+ Countries
We supply cable gland distributors, electrical wholesalers, and OEM manufacturers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Our export team handles all shipping documentation — including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and compliance documents — so your import process is straightforward, not a back-and-forth. We work with established freight partners and can accommodate both FOB and CIF terms.

Certified Products with Full Documentation — Every Order
Our cable glands carry CE marking, RoHS compliance, and IP68 rating as standard. ATEX and IECEx certification is available across our hazardous area gland range. Test reports, declarations of conformity, and material certificates are provided with every certified order — without needing to chase. For OEM buyers who face import audits or project approval processes, this removes a significant bottleneck.

Flexible Order Quantities — From Samples to Bulk Supply
We understand that distributors and new OEM partners need to verify quality before committing to large volumes. Sample and trial orders are accepted at a low minimum order quantity — with no compromise on the production standard. Once quality is confirmed, we scale to bulk production on agreed lead times. Regular customers benefit from scheduled production runs and priority dispatch to support their stock replenishment cycles.

How We Manufacture Cable Glands

At Difvan, every cable gland is produced entirely in-house — from raw material selection to final inspection — at our Yueqing, Zhejiang factory. This end-to-end control allows us to maintain consistent quality, meet tight tolerances, and respond quickly to custom specifications and OEM requirements.

Material Selection & Inspection

Step 01 — Material Selection & Incoming Inspection

We source brass, stainless steel (304/316), and PA66 nylon from approved, RoHS-certified suppliers. Every incoming material batch is inspected for dimensional accuracy, material composition, and hazardous substance compliance before entering production — no unverified material enters the line.

CNC operator monitoring brass threading process

Step 02 — CNC Machining & Threading

Gland bodies are precision-machined on CNC turning centres to achieve exact thread profiles — PG, metric, NPT, and BSP standards. Thread gauges are used throughout machining to verify dimensional conformance to IEC 60670-22. Tolerances are held within ±0.05mm on critical seating surfaces.

Step 03 — Surface Treatment & Plating

Step 03 — Surface Treatment & Plating

Brass gland bodies undergo nickel plating to the specified thickness — enhancing corrosion resistance and providing the surface finish required for EMC bonding. Stainless steel components are passivated. Nylon PA66 parts are UV-stabilised during moulding — no post-treatment required.

Step 04 — Assembly & Sealing Component Fitting

Step 04 — Assembly & Sealing Component Fitting

Gland components — body, compression ring, sealing insert, locknut, and clamping nut — are assembled under controlled conditions. EPDM and NBR sealing elastomers are fitted to specification and checked for correct seating before the assembly proceeds to testing.

Step 05 — Performance Testing & IP Rating Verification

Step 05 — Performance Testing & IP Rating Verification

Assembled glands are batch-tested to IEC 60529 for ingress protection — confirming dust tightness and water resistance at the rated IP level. Pull-out force is tested to IEC 60670-22 strain relief requirements. For explosion-proof variants, additional testing is conducted to IEC 60079.

Step 06 — Final Quality Inspection, Packaging & Dispatch

Step 06 — Final Quality Inspection, Packaging & Dispatch

Every finished gland undergoes 100% visual inspection before packaging. Certificates of conformity are issued for all certified products. OEM orders are packaged to buyer specification — including custom labelling, private branding, and retail-ready packaging. Export documentation including country-of-origin certificates and packing lists are prepared for every bulk shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cable Glands

Common questions from distributorsOEM buyers, and electrical engineers sourcing cable glands from Difvan.

A cable gland — also called a cable entry gland or cable connector — is a mechanical fitting that attaches and seals an electrical cable at the point it enters an enclosure, panel, or piece of equipment. It provides three functions: strain relief to prevent cable pullout, environmental sealing to maintain the enclosure’s IP rating, and in specialist types, EMC shielding or explosion protection.

PG thread (Panzergewinde) is a European standard commonly used in older installations and widely specified in Asia and the Middle East. Metric thread is the current ISO standard and is the most widely used globally. Both are dimensionally different — a PG16 gland is not interchangeable with an M16 gland despite similar cable ranges. Always verify the thread standard specified by your enclosure manufacturer before ordering.

Difvan cable glands are available from IP54 through to IP68 — the highest standard level for continuous submersion protection. Most standard glands in our range achieve IP68 as a minimum. The correct IP rating depends on the installation environment — indoor panels typically require IP65, outdoor or washdown environments require IP66 or IP67, and submerged or submersible applications require IP68.

A single compression gland has one sealing point on the cable outer sheath — suitable for unarmoured cables. A double compression gland has two sealing points — one on the cable sheath and one on the armour layer — providing armour termination, earthing, and enhanced ingress protection. Double compression glands are required for SWA (steel wire armoured) and SY cables in most installation standards.

Yes — but only certified variants. In Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous area classifications, all cable entry fittings must be certified to ATEX (for the EU market) or IECEx (for international markets). Difvan’s BDM series covers Ex d (flameproof) and Ex e (increased safety) designs for these installations. Using a standard gland in a classified hazardous area is a safety and compliance violation.

Difvan supports both sample orders and full bulk production runs. Minimum order quantities vary by product type and whether custom specifications are required. For standard catalogue items, mixed orders across sizes are accepted. For OEM and private label orders, MOQs are discussed during the quotation process. Contact our sales team with your specific requirements for a confirmed MOQ and lead time.

Yes. Difvan offers full custom cable gland manufacturing — including non-standard thread sizes, extended cable ranges, alternative sealing materials, custom surface finishes, and private label packaging. Send your technical specification to our team and we will respond with a quote within 24 hours. Pre-production samples are available before bulk commitment.

Choosing the correct size requires two measurements: the outer diameter of the cable (to select the correct cable entry range) and the entry hole diameter and thread standard of your enclosure (to select the correct thread size). Match the cable OD to the gland’s stated cable range, and match the thread to your enclosure’s knockouts or pre-drilled holes. Our cable gland size chart above covers all standard PG, metric, and NPT sizes with cable ranges for quick reference.
